Application for Citizenship by Registration |

A Citizen of the British Commonwealth or Republic of Ireland who holds resident status in Trinidad and Tobago for a minimum of 5 years may apply to the Minister of National Security to be registered as a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago.

An application form is obtained from the Ministry of National Security, no fee attached. |
|
An application is submitted to the Ministry of National Security on the prescribed form 7, three (3) Original forms, and is subject to the approval of the Minister (MNS website).

A Certificate of Citizenship (Form 9) is granted on approval of the application |

Police Certificate of Character from country of residence and /or home country
|
|
Medical Forms 40 and 40A
|
|
Proof of Legal Entry into Trinidad and Tobago

Proof of Resident Status
|
|
Adequate Knowledge of the English Language and duties of a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago

|
Take the Oath of Allegiance of Trinidad and Tobago

Citizenship can be lost if such a citizen acquires the citizenship of another country by voluntary act other than marriage
