Section 9 (2) and Section 9 (3) of the Immigration Act Chapter 18:01
 

Extension of Stay

(a) A permitted entrant to Trinidad and Tobago who requires an extension of stay to remain in the country shall appear before the Immigration Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago.

(b) An application for an extension of stay is made to the Chief Immigration Officer on the prescribed form and is subject to his approval.

REQUIREMENTS:

Completed Application Form

Valid Reason/Purpose for Extension of Stay

Valid Return Ticket or Security Deposit

Proof of Sufficient Funds for upkeep during stay

Proof of Legitimate Lodging in Trinidad and Tobago

Proof of Marriage (for married persons)

Proof of Parentage (for minors)

Proof of Work/Student/Missionary Permit (where applicable).

(c) A permitted entrant, who is not the holder of a Work Permit, Student Permit, Missionary Permit or is awaiting Permanent Residence Status may be granted an Extension of Stay to a maximum of one (1) year from the date of entry into Trinidad and Tobago, subject to the approval of the Chief Immigration Officer.

(d) A permitted entrant, who is the holder of a Work Permit, Student Permit, Missionary Permit or is awaiting Permanent Residence Status may be granted an Extension of Stay beyond one (1) year.
